The classroom uses the Creative Curriculum-It teaches children to become creative, confident, and caring critical thinkers. Teaching Strategies Gold is also utilized for Child Assessments.
GOLD is an authentic, ongoing observational system for assessing children from birth through kindergarten. It helps teachers observe children in the context of every day experiences, which is an effective way to learn what they know and can do.
We are currently working with Grow NJ Kids for a star rating.

The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center at YWCA Princeton is open from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm.
Our Princeton Public School classrooms follow the school day hours of 9am – 3:30 p
Yes, Before/After Care Programs is offered during the school year. The program is held on site. Before Care is from 7:30am– 9:00am and Aftercare is from 3:30pm- 6pm. Aftercare also covers Early Dismissal hours (1:15-6pm) when the school day ends due to staff development.
We offer a 3, 4 or 5 day schedule for all students and part-time hours for children 2.5yrs and up. Drop-ins are only available to current students.
We provide a morning and afternoon snack for children each day. Parents provide their child’s lunch.

All of our teachers are Red Cross and CPR certified. Most of our Lead Teachers have a Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree. Many Assistants have their Associates, CDA, or are currently working on their certification.
We adhere to the guidelines set by the NJ Office of Licensing for staff-child ratios.
The goal of discipline at The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center is to enable and encourage the growth of self-discipline within all our children. Since self-discipline is a slow process, children are disciplined in a positive manner and at a level that is appropriate for their age and actions. Self-discipline is achieved when a child can make appropriate decisions for themselves without being told which decision is correct and accept responsibility for those choices.
Yes. The oldest siblings get a 10% discount on their tuition.
We suggest that you put down the $200 deposit which will get you on our wait list. You will be contacted as soon as a space is available. If a space does not become available for that school year, the deposit will be refunded.
We require 30 days’ notice of withdrawal in order to apply your $200.00 Deposit to your last month’s tuition.
All payments are made through our EZChildTrack system. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover as well as E-check. We can also take cash payments at our Information Desk
If the forecast indicates the possibility of a delay or closing, please check our website at www.ywcaprinceton.org or go to your child’s ClassDojo account for the most up-to-date alerts and announcements.
When storms or emergencies occur after students are at the center, it is sometimes necessary to send them home early. If the center closes early due to a weather related emergency, parents/guardians are responsible for picking up children from the center.
