Dale Caldwell, Lieutenant Governor

Mikie Sherrill has selected Centenary University President Dale Caldwell as her Lieutenant Governor, the first African American in the school’s 156-year history. In addition to his work at Centenary, Caldwell is a Methodist pastor and served on the New Brunswick Board of Education for 26 years. He served as the assistant commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for Governor James McGreevey. Caldwell received his Bachelor’s Degree from Princeton University and a Doctorate in Education from Seton Hall.
