Rose Wong
Chief Executive Officer
With over 30 years of leadership experience in education and nonprofit management, Rose is a dynamic executive dedicated to driving strategic growth and community impact. She joined YWCA Princeton in January 2022 as Chief Operating Officer, was promoted to Chief Finance and Operating Officer in December 2022, and assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in July 2023. In these leadership roles, she has played a critical part in strengthening the organization’s financial health, operational efficiency, and programmatic expansion.
Rose has devoted her career to empowering girls and women through education. She began her career as an economics and history educator in independent schools in Australia, rapidly advancing into administrative leadership positions focused on curriculum development and faculty support. After relocating to the United States, she held key leadership roles in prestigious independent schools across New York and New Jersey, including Middle School Division Head, Assistant Headmaster, Director of Curriculum and Faculty, Director of Strategic Initiatives, and Head of School. At Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, she was instrumental in launching STEM initiatives and Finance & Economics programs, while also playing a pivotal role in fundraising campaigns for scholarships and new educational initiatives.
Transitioning to the nonprofit sector, Rose leveraged her expertise in fundraising, business management, and education to drive meaningful change for children and families in Mercer County. As Executive Director of Princeton Nursery School, she successfully navigated reopening the organization as soon as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring continuity of care and education for children. She also led a comprehensive support program addressing food insecurity and financial hardships for families affected by the crisis. In addition, she spearheaded program expansions in health and wellness, hunger prevention, and early childhood literacy. Under her leadership, the school achieved a prestigious 4-star rating from Grow NJ Kids, a testament to its commitment to high-quality early education. She also developed and executed comprehensive fundraising strategies that significantly increased individual, corporate, and foundation giving, securing vital resources for scholarships and capital improvements. Over four years, she successfully led the completion of five capital projects, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth.
Rose is deeply committed to the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women across Central New Jersey. She is supported in her journey by her husband of 23 years and their amazing daughter, who is beginning her college career pursuing physics and computer science. Together, they share a passion for advocacy, equity, and creating lasting positive change in their community.
Tricia Daley
Chief Financial Officer
Tricia Daley joined the YWCA Princeton in March 2025, as a seasoned financial executive with over 25 years of experience leading strategic financial operations across nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Known for her thoughtful and mission-driven approach, Tricia combines deep technical expertise with a collaborative leadership style to strengthen organizational capacity and financial resilience.
During her career, Tricia has overseen complex financial portfolios, including budgets exceeding $40 million, and has guided organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and expansion. She is skilled in financial planning and analysis, audit and compliance oversight, systems implementation, and team development. Her work has consistently resulted in improved financial reporting, streamlined operations, and meaningful cost savings.
Tricia’s leadership is grounded in transparency, integrity, and a commitment to empowering teams. She has successfully led the implementation of modern financial systems, reduced month-end close processes, and introduced policies that enhance efficiency and accountability. She works closely with executive teams and boards, translating financial insights into strategic decisions that drive impact.
She holds an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology and is experienced with a wide range of financial tools and systems, including Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP Concur, and Salesforce.
Tricia’s passion lies in building sustainable financial foundations that allow mission-driven organizations to thrive—today and into the future.
Tara O’Shea
Chief Operating Officer
In her newly appointed role, Tara O’Shea serves on the Executive Leadership Team as well as Co-Directs The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center at YWCA Princeton and Youth Programs. Her responsibilities include the daily operation of the YWCA and childcare facility. She manages a staff of over 25, which includes the TBFECC, Robotics & EXPRESS Summer Enrichment and Tiger Camp for Princeton University’s Alumni Weekend. Tara’s responsibility, vast experience, and strong communication skills are just a few of the essential traits Tara possesses in this role.
Tara has served over 28 years as part of the childcare & youth programs team. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a professional membership organization that works to promote high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. She is a member of the National After School Alliance (NAA).
Since 1996, Tara has been an active member of the YWCA. Her years of experience include aquatics both on site & satellite sites, working with young children, teens & seasoned adults in land & water health & fitness.
Tara’s educational/recreational experience includes over 28 years of working with the youth, from infants to school-age children. Tara stays focused on utilizing the most developmentally appropriate practices in cognitive development, exploratory play, and physical and motor development for children. Furthermore, the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women shapes both Tara’s childcare program as well as her leadership style. She values inclusivity and diversity in her classrooms—from students to staff and works to ensure anti-bullying and tolerance are practiced in each classroom.
Tara received a BA in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Reading from Brooklyn College. She also holds certifications as an American Red Cross Instructor for First Aid, CPR/AED.
Dennis Washington
Chief Advancement Officer
With over 25 years of leadership experience in education, government, and nonprofit management, Dennis is a proven executive focused on driving resources and stakeholder impact. He joined the YWCA Princeton in July 2025 as the Chief Advancement Officer.
Dennis has dedicated his career to empowering young people through providing resources for education, employment and training, and alleviating homelessness. Dennis began his career as a Planner with Capital Area Michigan Works managing a request for proposal (RFP) process that allocated millions of JTPA funds to service providers to provide employment and training to low-income adults, youth, and dislocated workers. Dennis worked for the City of Lansing (Michigan) as a Grants & Program Coordinator raising over $5 million per year, including funds for Project RESPECT, an adolescent health female program focused on college prep and pairing female students with professional women mentors. Dennis was then recruited to join Public Sector Consultants as a Senior Consultant in the Education area. Central Michigan University hired Dennis as the Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations to work on their first capital campaign. The capital campaign goal was $50 million; the campaign raised $78 million with almost half in corporate and foundation funds.
Dennis was then hired by Kettering University in Flint, Michigan as the Vice President for University Advancement. At Kettering, Dennis and President Liberty wrote a proposal to the Mott Foundation for a marketing campaign, student scholarships, alumni receptions throughout the U.S. and Canada, and alumni reception materials. The Mott Foundation awarded Kettering University with $2 million per year for five consecutive years. Dennis joined Davenport University in Grand Rapids, MI and grew the Advancement Division and increased corporate support. After resigning from Davenport, Dennis joined Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA. After five years at VUU, during which Dennis raised over $6.1 million during the 150 Anniversary of the institution, increased corporate support by 100% and increased alumni support to over $1million per year for five consecutive years, Dennis became the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Salus University in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. After raising over $4 million and celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Salus University, Dennis resigned to attend graduate school and worked briefly for Amazon as an Area Services Director. Dennis worked for Slippery Rock University from January 2020 to September 2022, having the best fundraising year for SRU during the pandemic. Dennis worked for Drexel University raising funds for St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Dennis transitioned to New York Life as a Life Insurance Agent. Dennis has a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree from Oakland University in Michigan.
Dennis is deeply committed to the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women across Central New Jersey. Dennis is joined in his journey by his college sweetheart of 36 years and their oldest daughter an attorney with Travelers Insurance and his youngest daughter, a senior at Abington Friends School. Together, they share a passion for advocacy, equity, and creating enduring positive change in their community.
Valencia Petion
Chief Human Resources Officer
Valencia Petion is an accomplished Human Resources executive with over a decade of experience leading strategic HR initiatives across the nonprofit and corporate sectors. Fluent in English, French, and Creole, she is known for building inclusive and empowering workplace cultures, driving data-informed decision-making, and enhancing organizational effectiveness through innovative HR practices. Valencia holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from SUNY Empire State College and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Human Resource Management at Thomas Edison State University. She is also a SHRM Certified Professional.
