Looking Back at our Summer of Fun

Categories: Blog

Today, Mary, the Director of the Child Development Center dressed up as a clown to celebrate the end of our summer of fun at YWCA Princeton! We had carnival-themed activities and games for the children, and they giggled as they honked Ms. Mary’s clown nose. Although we were a little sillier than usual today, the energy is nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to our child care program.

During the past few months, our Young Wonders enjoyed science and robotics presentations from our Summer STEM Camp counselors. Some learned fun Disney-inspired dances at our Summer Ballet Camp, and others picked up books at the Barefoot Books Book Fair! The children also had a parade to the Princeton Public Library on the Fourth of July, where they marched with their crafts and American flags. They also had an AL dinosaur presentation from Pearl Observatory, which is a 3D interlocking puzzle of an Allosaurus Dinosaur. With over 30 pieces to piece together, every child got to participate in putting the dinosaur together. They also each got to feel a real dinosaur egg and touch a dinosaur bone!

Aside from those highlights, we could see and hear the children enjoying their time at the Child Development Center every day. Although we’re sad to see the summer come to an end, fall is right around the corner, and registration for the 2019 – 2020 year is open! Registration is also open for other programs our Young Wonders will love, like Dance! We offer classes in hip hop and ballet.
