On October 6th, we hosted our 5th annual Beyond Pink Art Show, which raised over $30,000 in support of our work at the BCRC. The show featured over 100 pieces created or inspired by women living with, through, and beyond breast cancer–many of whom are members of the BCRC and participate in the Healing Arts initiative. (Click here to learn more about the Circle Project, a recent mindfulness practice brought to our program by volunteer instructor Deb Cusma). Beyond Pink was our first in-person fundraiser since 2019, and we were incredibly moved by the turnout and positive feedback about the reception. If you missed the opening reception, don’t worry! The gallery will be open during weekends throughout the remainder of the month–visit the Beyond Pink web page to learn more about the hours.
Here are a few ways you can support the BCRC during (and beyond) Breast Cancer Awareness Month
- Volunteer! We’re currently looking for volunteers to provide information about the BCRC during our gallery hours. We also provide training for volunteers who are interested in learning how to give educational presentations, and are particularly in need of bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) volunteers.
- Assemble and donate chemo care bags; it’s a great team-building exercise for corporate and social groups, and helps us provide comfort and support to women navigating chemotherapy.
- If you’re able to, make a monetary contribution, and see if your employer will match your donation!
- Let us be of service to you–schedule a free outreach and education session.
