You can now become a member online!
The YWCA is a membership movement -- thus, dues are required to join the Association. Through membership in the YWCA Princeton, you also join with the YWCA of the USA and the World YWCA as equal partners with a common purpose. Your membership fees help support YWCA services and projects in the 14 United Way of Greater Mercer County communities.
YWCA membership (from any YWCA) is required for participation in all classes (unless otherwise noted) and must be current at the time of first class.
Individuals who attend a class, a seminar, program, conference, or sponsored trip that meets only once are not required to become members in order to participate. Similarly, individuals who use YWCA telephone information and counseling services such as those offered by the YWCA Breast Cancer Resource Center are not required to become members.
From time to time, the YWCA Princeton offers special, promotional one-time events for which there is no program fee. Membership is not required for such events. However, if fees are charged for a one time event, then the fee for non-members is at least $10 more or 50% more than the fee which is charged to members, whichever is less, at the discretion of the Executive Director.
When parent and child participate together in a class, membership is required for both. Membership must be current to purchase athletic tickets.
The YWCA reserves the right to revoke the membership of or deny membership to anyone whose conduct, behavior, or language is inconsistent with the principles of the YWCA mission.
Members should bring their membership cards with them when coming for classes or to use the athletic facilities. For the protection of members and associates, we must check all membership cards.
Single Term Memberships
If you have never been a member of the YWCA Princeton or are in the area for a brief time, and would like to explore the YWCA and its many programs and opportunities, we invite you to try a Single Term Membership. A Single Term membership:
A family membership includes parent(s) or guardian(s) and children (through high school) in the immediate family who reside at the same address.
College Student Membership
A full-time undergraduate or graduate student, male or female of any age, having a student I.D. and taking 12 hours or more of classes, is entitled to a student membership. For mail-in registration, a photocopy of student ID is required.
A Friend or Family Friend membership offers you all the benefits of a regular membership, and also gives the YWCA the added financial support it needs to keep its program costs down. Consider this membership category as your way of helping the YWCA continue its work at "the heart of the community." A portion of your fees is tax-deductible and you will be invited to the annual luncheon with a guest-speaker in the fall.
