FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL)
Each year FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge releases a Challenge, which is based on a real-world scientific topic.
The FIRST LEGO League Games have three parts: the Robot Game, the Project, and the Core Values. Teams of up to ten children, learn to program an autonomous robot to score points on a themed playing field (Robot Game); research and develop a solution to a problem they have identified (Project); all guided by the FIRST LEGO League Core Values. The season is 8 weeks long but experienced teams may extend their season with pre- and post-season activities. Competing members are expected to attend all team meetings (usually 2/week). Teams will attend an official qualifying tournament in November. Some teams may go on to compete in State and World championship games hosted by FIRST LEGO League Partners.
