Dragon Boat Team

Program Description

 Coach: Ellen Law

President: Terry Coleman

The Machestic Dragons is New Jersey’s first breast cancer survivors’ dragon boat team. In its tenth season, the Machestics paddle to help raise breast cancer awareness and to demonstrate that women living with breast cancer can lead full, active lives. The team is open to breast cancer survivors, their family members and friends, and other paddling enthusiasts who support the team’s mission. Previous paddling experience is not necessary, all ages and fitness levels are welcome. Paddling instruction and equipment are provided. The team practices on Mercer Lake in Mercer County Park from April through October, hosts its own annual “Paddle for Pink” Community Dragon Boat Festival every June, and participates in recreational races each year all along the east coast and Canada, such as: Montreal, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Hartford, Richmond, and Parsippany.
